in-situ dance performance
For the World Dance Day we organized a dancing intervention at selected locations in the city center of Ljubljana, in which dancers scattered across the streets performed a synchronized choreography guided over the radio frequency 88.8 MHz. The situation on the location was simultaneously also transmitted as a feedback loop to the FM frequency. Thus radio acted as a tool for performing a synchronous dance in the streets and as an intermediary of the sound symphony, enriched with the feedback from the location.
The starting point of the intervention was to consider the movement of bodies in the public space, simple, unconscious, and occasionally uniformed protocols that determine our movements, and interlink or differentiate us.

Maria Papadomanolaki To begin is to follow on from, (29:00) / 2014
To Begin Is to Follow on From is inspired by Tobačna, the old tobacco factory in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Balancing between a radio feature and documentary fiction, the work marks an exploration of the liminal space of the factory. Different strands of voices and miniature compositions transmit fragments of the location, be it imaginary, personal, collective, historical, social, from the present, the past or the future.

Kathy Kennedy Hmmm…, (39:14) / 2014
In situ performance in loop with FM transmission
Hmmm… is a large-scale sound installation/performance event that was developed on the basis of acoustic ecology of the sound-walks, in which performers/participants are synchronized by way of radio transmission. It is a long line filled with a humming sound, actually an instance of an interaction between two individuals with a radio receiver, which results in an extremely powerful and realistic sound experience.

Vasja Progar RFI Study, (22:16) / 2014
Artwork is conceived as research of the sound potential of radio-frequency interferences (RFI). These are the starting material from which the sound composition is made by editing and processing.
Commissioned by Vasja Progar.
Jan Turk & Marko Batista Cave Astronauts, (34:48) / 2016
The artists intention is to upgrade their sound work that is based on the recording process and sound implementation within the site-specific acoustic space of a karst cave. Artists identify the possibility of exploiting the acoustic properties and characteristics of the natural habitat as the primary compositional element and the environment for the emergence of the specific electro-acoustic composition. Through the process artists made several sound recordings inside the cave that feature cave sounds of water droplets, sounds of various natural materials that were found in cave, and inserts of electronically produced sounds from the devices the artists brought along into the underworld.
Artwork was commissioned by Cona for radioCona:0.2425, premiere sound artworks.
